Non-Convulsive Status Epilepticus as a Manifestation of Methotrexate-Induced Leukoencephalopathy

Abstract

|
Methotrexate (MTX) is an antimetabolite used in the treatment of leukemia and autoimmune disease. Careful observation of MTX concentration should be performed as side effects such as seizure, headache, limb paralysis, and confusion are found in MTXinduced leukoencephalopathy. To our knowledge, there was no reported case of nonconvulsive status epilepticus as a manifestation of MTXinduced leukoencephalopathy in South Korea. Here, we report a 54yearold patient that was diagnosed with nonconvulsive status epilepticus after longterm use of MTX.
